Legacy Society

Honoring Commitment to Jefferson County's Future

The Legacy Society honors individuals who have demonstrated commitment to their community by including the Community Foundation in their estate planning. Too often, these gifts are unrecognized because they come at the end of the donor’s life. The Legacy Society was established in 2003 as a way to publicaly thank donors during their lifetimes.

Membership in the Legacy Society ensures that donors’ charitable dollars are utilized in the way they intended. Planned Giving may be used to create a new fund, contribute to any of the Foundation’s existing funds, or be distributed at the discretion of the Community Foundation Grants Committee.

◊ – denotes that a member has passed away

"Alice and I are proud to be members of the Legacy Society; during our 20 years living in Madison, the community has been very supportive to us. The Community Foundation has allowed us to "give back" to Madison and Jefferson County by bequests through the Legacy Society in a manner that reflects our interests and beliefs. We know the Community Foundation is a good financial steward of our donation and enhances the quality of life for all the citizens of the area."
