George and June Miller Memorial Scholarship

The George and June Miller Memorial Scholarship was established by the Jefferson County Genealogical Society in 2014.

Even though he had moved away, George Miller never forgot his Madison roots. George was an accomplished journalist, having written for many newspapers across the country. He was well-known for his “Family Trees, Twigs, and Chips” genealogy column and his “It Reminds Me” feature in The Madison Courier. While living in Florida, George and June were both staff members at the University of South Florida. In 1998, they became members of the Jefferson County Genealogical Society.

This scholarship honors their memory and love of genealogy. This renewable award is given to a Jefferson County graduating high school senior planning to attend any campus of Ivy Tech Community College.
