This endowment was established in memory of Specialist Jonathon Daniel “Jon” Menke in 2008 following his passing while on duty defending our country against global terrorism in Iraq when an IRD exploded under his vehicle.
Jon was a 2005 graduate of Madison Consolidated High School. While in high school he played football and was a member of the track team. He also became locally famous for his portrayal of Gaston in the high school musical “Beauty and the Beast.” Jon loved music, and played the guitar and banjo. He also enjoyed art, theater, working out, and bicycling. Most will remember Jon for his infectious laughter, zest for life and sense of compassion for others.
The Jonathon D. Menke Memorial Endowment is a Designated Fund for the MCHS Theatre Department, meaning that annual grants will be sent to the program to help them stage their productions.
