How to Establish a Fund
Creating your endowment in the Community Foundation is simple. All the Foundation needs to know is what you want the endowment named and what charitable purpose the endowment's grants should support. The Foundation's staff can assist you in these decisions. Then a fund agreement is drawn up that will forever direct the Foundation to carry out your charitable intentions.
There are no start-up costs associated with setting up a new endowment.
The minimum amount needed to establish a fund is $5,000 ($20,000 for scholarships).
You and anyone else can put new gifts of any size in the endowment at any time.
And, of course, you can always add a gift to an existing endowment.
If you wish to give through a gift that comes after your lifetime, see Legacy Giving.
