Acorn Funds

The heart of the Community Foundation of Madison & Jefferson County’s mission is to build a strong, vibrant community by helping donors provide perpetual funding for the people, projects, and passions of Jefferson County. The Community Foundation believes that Acorn Fund Accounts, established as component parts of the Foundation, will assist our community’s citizens with meeting their charitable giving objectives.

The Acorn Fund Plan is a program that helps people establish and grow charitable funds much the same way they grow retirement funds – through regular payments into an investment account – and over time create a named Fund of the Foundation.

A donor(s) may open an Acorn Fund Account for a commitment of at least $500. The donor agrees to make annual contributions until all the gifts reach a minimum of $5,000 ($20,000 for scholarships) within a reasonable time period.

For more information call Louise Markel at the Foundation’s office, (812) 265-3327.
